Executive Summary of the Broomfield Blast Soccer Club
Board of Directors Meeting of April 24, 2008
Board attendees: Joe Donahue, David Lee, Mike Moroze, Rod Muir, Sunil Narang, Karen Surbrugg, Kevin Thompson, and Joe Swanson.

Financial Update
The board continued to review the club's finances and budget. The board believes that the club is in good financial health, and we are striving to simplify our overall account structure and reporting process. This is an on-going priority for the board. Given our financial reviews, the board is also actively engaging in budget proposals and plans to approve the final club budget at the next board meeting.
Tournament Update
The Blast Shootout tournament committee is hard at work finalizing the details of the tournament. Tournament business and location proposals were discussed. These details should be finalized by the next Board meeting.
Selected Reports
President. The board is considering ideas for club sponsorship. The intent is to formalize a relationship with a long-term sponsor that would benefit the club and its members, and also increase the club's visibility.
DSO. The DSO continues to develop exciting programs for Blast members. The psychology course and guest speaker have received great feedback and were very well attended with over 250 people in attendance for the psychology lecture. A parent course on soccer fundamentals is being offered and has received a great response from the membership. In addition to these courses, the specialized camps (Striker last session and Defender going on currently) have been going very well. James is looking at uses for our new club logo – for computer backgrounds, stickers, business cards, etc.; and is also going to work with the attorney to register it.
DOC. Suggested a possible fund raising idea - a club sponsored golf tournament. This is still being investigated.The next coaches meeting will focus on Speed/Agility
New Coaches – All coaches for existing teams will be in place by April 25, 2008.
New Business
Uniform: Approved Optional Blue Shorts. The board approved a motion to provide an option for teams to purchase blue shorts as part of their away uniform. This optional uniform element requires 100% team approval and is at the option of the team. The black shorts will remain the standard short color for teams that do not choose to go with this option. It's important to ensure the club brand remains strong.
